Waldo Trommler Paints is a small Finnish company planning to enter the US market. Unlike the majority of existing brands in their category, Waldo Trommler didn’t have an established history and they believed the key to accessing the market was unique package design. The phrase “we must stand out!” became the basis for our work on their new brand identity.
How do you create a brand that stands out? First, we needed a design solution that wasn’t being used by any of Waldo Trommler’s competitors. At the same time, we needed to show the main features of the company: friendliness, quality and innovation.
Ultimately, we created a brand with no corporate colors. Waldo Trommler Paints simply features common design elements that are recolored in a wide array of bright hues, depending on the application. This helps Waldo Trommler Paints not only achieve its goal of standing out, but helps cast the them as the friendliest paint company on shelves today.
